Problems with GE Profile Refrigerator "board"?

We purchased the GE profile refrigerator model # PFS22MBSBWW October, 2006. We declined delivery of the 1st unit because the freezer drawer track was broken. The next unit worked for 6 months then the freezer stopped working. After 7 repairman visits and 3 months without a working freezer GE still will not refund our money. The repairmen (plural) mentioned a problem with the "Board". The repairmen know that there is a problem but GE refuses to admit it or issue a recall. Anyone else have a problem with this product?

The "Mother" boards on these G.E. refrigerators has been a big problem. They seem to fail quite often, but I have yet to see a repeat failure on any I've serviced.

The manufacturers will not recall an appliance simply because it quits working- they only issue recalls if the problem is safety related. Even then, it's usually limited to a no-cost repair or a small rebate applied towards a new purchase if your appliance isn't repairable.

Well, consumer affairs is certainly collecting complaints about it. You should go on that site to make a complaint yourself, that is how pressure gets put on the manufacturers to recall or repair faulty items. Thank goodness I got an extended warranty through Sears on mine. The compressor, condensor, ice maker, seals, water maker and thermostat have all been replaced on mine, free.
