How do you find the person who made up fake facebook profile?

Someone made up a fake profile of me and added a bunch of my friends. I saw this profile and reported it...it got deleted by the creator of the profile finally. Does anyone know if its possible for facebook to find out the real person who made up this profile of me? They had a fake email address so I am not sure if there is anyway for facebook to figure it out. They havent gotten back with me and not sure if they will. Ive heard you can file charges as well..

Theoretical Facebook release log only to investigating agencies like police. So you can file charges with police or Internet Crime Cell and they can investigate with help from Facebook server's log to find person responsible.

Facebook will not respond to individual to help them find the person responsible, they respond to legal authorities only.

PS:- You should not take this incident lightly. At minimum inform police (with written proof) or register police case (even if they don't investigate the case) , so any fraud that occur in future using your name, you have evidence to prove of someone using your name fraudulently.
